The Z.S.B.C.

The Zoroastrian Society of
British Columbia

Preserving and promoting the rich heritage and traditions of Zoroastrianism within the vibrant multicultural community of British Columbia.

About the ZSBC

As followers of the ancient teachings of Ashu Zarathushtra, we carry forward a rich and dynamic philosophy nearly 3,800 years in the making, proudly practising the good religion of Zoroastrianism within the vibrant multicultural community of British Columbia.

The Zoroastrian Society of British Columbia (Z.S.B.C.) was founded on February 22, 1968. ZSBC began as a small gathering of about twenty Zarathushti families united by a shared vision of building a formal community home in British Columbia. Over five decades later, that founding spirit has grown into a thriving society of over 513 families, representing 1,253 individuals, spread across the province. Our members trace their roots to Iran, India, Pakistan, the United States, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australasia, with second, third, and even fourth-generation Zoroastrians born right here in Canada adding new depth to our community’s story.

We honour the vision of the late Mr. Jamshed Khurshedji Pavri, whose leadership laid the foundation for our Society, and the generosity of the late Mrs. Morvarid Guiv, whose gift made possible the purchase of our Burnaby property in 1985. The Arbab Rostam Guiv Darbe Mehr has since remained our spiritual and cultural home.
